About

“Helen is a passionate artist, who brings art to life in conversation and with every stroke of a brush”

- Dan R. - Client

How one client described Helen Seagrave above is certainly true, as Helen’s passion and total commitment to her craft is undeniably reflected in all her work.  Her conscientious attention to detail means that she will intensely study her subject matter to make sure that she sees everything, noticing a special glint in an eye, a certain glance or gaze, the tilt of a head or even the slightest turn of a mouth, to ensure that she fully captures that individual.  Helen's immense love of painting is clearly evident from her highly detailed, beautiful artwork, which is the result of many hours of concentrated effort.

Helen is a self-taught, professional artist based in Romford in the UK. She produces hand-painted acrylic paintings on canvas, specialising in portraits, wildlife and pet portrait commissions. She loves to create artwork with intense colour that vibrates with energy and emotion.

A highly passionate, extremely dedicated artist who works tirelessly on each and every piece, giving it her all until she has got it as perfect as she can, no matter what it takes.

She describes her unique style as possessing an almost photographic quality, but with a painterly feel to it.

Her notable portraits include Dannii Minogue, Clive Myrie, Oti Mabuse, Nicola Coughlan, Jon Snow, Russell Tovey and Lesley Garrett, to name a few.

Speaking about her love of art and when it first began, she says:

"I have always loved to draw and paint from as long as I can remember. Even as a young child, I was creative and really enjoyed art.  I actually recall my mum telling me that when I was in nursery, I painted a picture which impressed the teachers and apparently, they could see from that time that I was going to be artistic.  My father is creative, so I suppose it was in my blood."

"Being an artist is such a wonderful profession, as there is nothing better than the joy that you can bring to someone when you create a piece of artwork especially for them, particularly when it is of a loved one or it captures a treasured memory or place. I try to capture not only a special moment in time and bring it to life through my artwork, but to go even further and really stir the emotions. I want to take the viewer on a journey in their mind, to create a real sense of joy and wonder."

“Like many artists, I did not initially pursue my real passion, but I opted for a proper job. So, I had a successful career within the shipping and logistics industry, but the love of art was always there, desperate to come out again. I reached a point in my life when I decided that I wanted to make art my career and finally do what I love doing the most. I have been doing it for a while on and off but started on a professional basis for the last few years."

"I really love what I am doing and being able to do what you love each day is amazing and so is something that I am truly grateful for."
